Overhead Crane Fall Protection System for Transport Trailers
Problem: This Missouri company needed to protect workers as they worked upon Transport Trailers being constructed for specialized applications. The need for fall protection in these applications is required in several adjacent service bays. As many as 4 workers need to be protected while on the trailer at the same time, so the application is obviously a unique and complex request. Further considering the facility utilizes an overhead bridge crane to service each of the bays, traditional monorail systems were not a viable consideration.
Solution: Partnering with our sister company Tri-State Overhead Crane Co, EFP designed, constructed, and installed this custom fall protection bridge system to be utilized on the existing crane runways to provide fall protection tie-off in any of the facilities eight service bays. The 50-foot span, power driven, fall protection bridge can accommodate 4 users. It is equipped with a collision avoidance system, to disable and stop the systems should they come within close proximity of each other. This truly unique and innovative concept is an example of the custom solutions offered by EFP.
