Free Standing Monorail System for Outdoor Railcar Repair
Problem: This Illinois Railcar repair and refurbishment facility needed to address fall protection concerns outdoors over railcars in its yard. Workers need to climb on top of the railcars to make repairs, but their ability to safely tie-off while at elevation is extremely limited in the open-air environment.
Solution: EFP designed and installed (2) free standing cantilevered rail fall protection systems, each with by-pass capable dual-track overhead rail for the two users to independently traverse the entire 140-foot system coverage area without interruption. This solution was both efficient and cost effective in protecting the workers while on top of the railcars and provided the safety all were looking for.
